storEDGE offers two options for managing a tenant who would like to move in on a future date. The first option is processing a move in today but only charging for the move in as if it were processed on a future date. The second option is utilizing the Reservation process and Task List.
Option 1
1. If today is the 5th and a tenant would like to move in on the 10th, begin the move-in process by selecting the Tenant button in the black navigation bar.
2. Enter the tenant's name and address information.
3. Select the unit and enter today's date for the desired move-in date.
4. Click the Move-In button and complete the rest of the tenant information fields in step 2 of the move in process.
5. Click the Next button to access the Review step of the move in. Here you'll click the Add button in the Discount column to enter the correct proration amount for a move in that would have taken place on the future date. (Click here for a handy proration calculator to help figure out the correct amount to charge.)
6. Complete the rest of the move in process.
If you use anniversary billing and would like the tenant's billing date to be the future move-in date, go to the tenant's profile and change the billing date.
